Vision training games children will actually do
EyeCalibrate is a set of vision training exercises for children, played through red‑cyan 3D glasses. It is designed to be used alongside the care your child already receives from their eye doctor.
EyeCalibrate is not a medical device and does not diagnose or treat any condition. It does not replace glasses, patching, eye drops, surgery, or the advice of a qualified eye care professional. Always follow your eye doctor's instructions. If you have any concern about your child's vision, see an optometrist or ophthalmologist.
What it does
- Games played through 3D glasses. Each eye is shown a slightly different picture, so the game only works properly when both eyes are used together.
- A guided setup. A short one-time setup measures your screen and your child's viewing distance, so the exercises are sized correctly for your device rather than guessed.
- Check-Up activities. Short screen-based activities that record how your child performed on the day. These are practice activities, not an eye examination, and they are not a substitute for a sight test.
- A progress view for parents. Session history and results over time, which you can bring to your child's next appointment.
- Stories and a cartoon channel as a reward for finishing a session.
Built to work offline
Every game, every exercise and the whole setup run with no internet connection. Your child's profile and results are stored on your device. The one exception is the cartoon channel, which streams video and so needs a connection the first time a film is played.
What you need
- A phone or tablet
- A pair of red‑cyan anaglyph 3D glasses (inexpensive, widely available online)
- Your child's own prescription glasses, if they wear them
- A parent or carer to run the first setup
Currently in testing
EyeCalibrate is being tested with a small group of families before its public release. If you would like to take part, or you are an eye care professional who would like to look at it, please get in touch.
